How renting with Renticy works
Renticy is the platform that powers rentals on this website. The retailer provides the products and Renticy provides the secure rental journey, including identity checks, payments and support.
When you’re browsing products, look out for the Renticy button on applicable items – this means you can rent through Renticy instead of buying outright.
Step 1 – Choose Renticy & set your dates
Select the Renticy option, choose when your rental starts and ends. You may be able to choose collection from the retailer or delivery where available.
Step 2 – Verify your identity
Enter your details, complete a quick photo ID and selfie check, then confirm your booking and pay your rental charges and any refundable deposit.
Step 3 – Collect, enjoy & return
Collect or receive your item, use it for your rental period, then return it on time so your deposit can be released back to your card.
On some rentals you will see an OWNit banner or button. This means that once your rental has finished, the retailer may give you the option to buy the item you rented, often at a discount.
This is a simple try-before-you-buy option. You can return the item at the end of your rental as normal, or choose to buy it if the retailer offers that choice.
What you need
- A valid payment card in your name
- A working email address and mobile number
- A clear photo ID such as a driving licence, passport or national ID card
- A selfie so Renticy can match your ID to you
Deposits & returns
Some rentals require a refundable security deposit. You will see this clearly before you confirm your booking.
Provided you return the item on time and in acceptable condition, the retailer will update the order and the deposit will be released back to your card. Exact timings can vary between card providers.

Rentals arranged through Renticy and any decision to buy an item through OWNit do not involve credit or any other regulated financial service. They are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
If you choose to buy an item through OWNit, this is a separate transaction between you and the retailer and is not part of your Renticy rental agreement.
